All-Day School Seminar

The Project Love All-Day School Seminar has been designed to introduce techniques that contribute to and support interpersonal relationships while empowering students to build a culture of kindness within their school. This program is available to for students in high schools and middle schools. All seminars are led by trained adult facilitators and trained student group leaders. The seminars are usually held off site (not on the school grounds). Through the use of videos, small group discussions, large group processing and interactive exercises we try to reach the following objectives:

  • The students will gain knowledge of the four basic groups that operate throughout their lives (perpetrators, victims, bystanders, and rescuers) and will be able to make their choice of which group they fall into and decide if that is where they want to be.
  • The students will be able to determine what the current culture of their school is and decide what changes, if any, are necessary.
  • The students will develop their own system for making wise choices.
  • The students will realize that how they judge others plays a very big role in their interpersonal relations.
  • The students will choose kindness as a way of making a positive change in the culture of their school to make it a nicer, kinder place to be.

Annual Student Survey

Each year Project Love surveys students attending our programs. Of students who responded to our most recent survey:

  • 91% have noticed more kindness in their schools.
  • 82% have noticed a decrease in teasing, taunting and bullying in their school.
  • 98% were aware that they themselves were doing more acts of kindness to others.
  • 98% find that they take action rather than remain a bystander.

Through our programs, students and faculty are empowered to make a difference in their communities and they are motivated to develop leadership skills by serving their school's and community's needs.

Schools may choose to target a specific group of students in their school for training, or train an entire grade level. Our experience is that when an entire grade level is trained, there is a broad base for cultural change, and schools maximize the impact of our training.

There is a small nominal charge for this program. Please contact Mary Alice Casalina, Director of Schools, for more information about scheduling a seminar for your students.

STARS Training

(Students Training And Reaching Students)

After attending a Project Love seminar, your students may choose to become Project Love STARS. These students volunteer for additional training, in order to become student group leaders. These group leaders facilitate small group discussions at All Day Seminars for other schools. This training is FREE. STARS are eligible to receive recognition for community service hours when they facilitate.
